Frequently Asked Questions

We send weekly updates through JobTread to keep you informed on progress, what’s happening on site, and what’s coming next. In addition, we schedule site meetings during key phases of construction so we can walk the home together, answer questions, and make sure everything is aligned.
Yes! While we don’t operate a design studio, we do help guide the process and work with your designer or provide trusted resources to make sure your selections align with your style and budget.
Timelines vary depending on the scope of your project, but on average, a custom home takes 12-18 months from groundbreaking to move-in. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way with realistic expectations and clear communication.
Absolutely. We welcome site visits, but for safety and coordination, we ask that you schedule them with us ahead of time. We’ll make sure someone from our team is there to walk you through things and answer any questions

Delays can happen due to weather, supply chain issues, or unexpected changes —but we’ll always be upfront and transparent. If anything shifts, we’ll walk you through the reasons and how we plan to stay on track.

We’ve carefully built a trusted team of trades and artisans who understand our standards and process, and we use our established subcontractor base to ensure quality, consistency, and accountability throughout your build.
Building in the country comes with unique challenges, and strong local relationships make all the difference. For nearly 20 years, we’ve been deeply rooted in our community and have built trusted partnerships with local trades and vendors. We’re here for the long haul — not just during construction, but long after move-in. Our work stands the test of time, and many of our clients return to build again, remodel, or refer friends and family. Building a home is not transactional to us, it’s a home built on sincere relationships.
Yes. We work closely with excellent local banks and a trusted closing company that are invested in our community and familiar with our process. We’re happy to provide referrals and help ensure a smooth financing experience.
We collect a 5% down payment at contract signing to initiate construction and cover early project costs. We invoice twice monthly based on progress and upcoming material deposits, as our subcontractors are paid weekly to keep your project moving forward. For cash clients, funds should be available as invoiced. If preferred, we can also invoice by phase in larger increments and manage funds in a dedicated account with full transparency and reconciliation available to you.
We’ve built homes using both, but prefer a cost-plus model because it offers the greatest transparency. We are happy to discuss further with you.
In a truly custom home, changes are a normal part of the process — spaces often feel different once they’re built than they do on paper. We work hard to provide accurate estimates upfront and clearly price any changes as they arise. Historically, most clients invest about 10% above their original estimate as selections evolve or scope expands.
